Stella Maris Chapel and Garden, Timonium, MD
In 1983, Sister M. Karen McNally, RSM established a hospice program at Stella Maris to provide care and comfort for the terminally ill. The Hospice Program began with the provision of hospice home care and, within a few months, an inpatient hospice unit was opened. It was the first Medicare-approved hospice program in Maryland.
In commemoration of providing compassionate hospice care for 40 years, Stella Maris is holding, Stella Maris Remembers, to celebrate the lives of all our loved ones who have shared the experience of our hospice care. This celebration of life will begin with a brief service in Stella Maris’ Chapel, followed by an outdoor reception in the garden with light refreshments.
For a suggested donation of $25 per luminary, you can place a personalized message in memory of your loved one(s) in the garden during this special celebration. Watch as the lights grow brighter as more luminaries are added, illuminating the night with peace, love, and remembrance.
Reserve your luminary(ies) by clicking here. A limited number of luminaries will be available the night of the event that you may personalize yourself. Cash, checks made payable to Stella Maris, or credit cards are accepted. To attend the event, click here.
Proceeds benefit Stella Maris inpatient and home hospice patients and their families.
