Effective communication is an important component of person-centered care and necessary to promote quality of later life. During this scenario-based educational conference, attendees will learn to recognize factors that negatively impact medical and non-medical communication and discover communication strategies that effectively enhance interactions with older adults. Therapeutic communication will also be discussed, including how it can be successfully used to interact with older adults and when working with persons with dementia to reduce resistance to care.
Time: Registration begins at 4:30 p.m.; Speaker begins at 5 p.m. and concludes at 8:15 p.m.

Important Information: The login information and handouts will be emailed to registrants prior to the class. The proctor of the class and print a screen shot of the attendees on the webinar periodically. We will run questions through the ”chat” on Zoom, and will email certificates directly to registrants after the filled out evaluation is returned.
